Tax representation for companies distributing products in Switzerland
- As of January 1, 2018, any foreign company providing services or making taxable deliveries in Switzerland must be subject to VAT in Switzerland if its Swiss and foreign turnover is greater than 100,000 CHF.
- To comply with this obligation, the foreign company must appoint a tax representative whose headquarters is in Switzerland.
- However, the foreign company remains solely responsible for the payment of VAT. The Swiss representative is responsible for filing returns and making payments on time.
