- From January 1, 2018, any foreign company that provides taxable services or deliveries in Switzerland will be in the obligation to be subject to VAT on the territory as long as its Swiss and foreign turnover is greater than CHF 100,000.-.
- In order to meet this obligation, the foreign company must appoint a tax representative with its headquarters on Swiss territory.
- However, the foreign company remains solely responsible for paying VAT. The Swiss representative is responsible for filing declarations and paying on time.
